On the Move

While watching president-elect Obama recycle Clintonistas into positions of power might be disheartening, these gestures merely put a happy face on a disintegrating empire--a failed state, if you will. On the other hand, what's happening out there in America's former sphere of influence is both exciting and inspirational.

Much of Latin America is now united in guarding its independence from the United States, and the acknowledged leader of that resistance -- Bolivian President Evo Morales -- plans to meet tomorrow with tribal leaders from Canada and the US at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington.

Despite the best efforts of American corporations and the Pentagon, the World Indigenous Movement is on the move, and that is something to be glad about.
